Hey, Y'all! I wanted to say thank you for everyone that decided to support my blog. I thought it would be right to start my first blog post introducing myself. For starters, my name is Alix Young and I graduated from Ball State University (Chirp Chirp) May 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a minor in Interpersonal Relations. At the start of the new year, I began my journey being a graduate student at the University of Illinois in their Human Service program. The best part of this program is that it is all online, but it can be challenging at times being a self-taught learner. The main reason I chose to be an online student was the flexibility that it allowed. Also, I am a full-time employee at the University of Illinois, like being a full-time student wasn’t enough.
Now that you know a little bit more about me, I wanted to explain what initially made me want to make a blog. To be honest I am just tired of being this quiet girl that has many dreams and aspirations. During this pandemic, I have been able to reflect a lot on the person that I want to be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, and so on. I understand that for me to achieve my goals I would need to start somewhere and today June 10, 2020, I decided that enough was enough. So, as I embark on this journey of becoming the woman God has created me to be, I thought I would document my journey along the way. I know that my transformation could also be inspirational for others and I thought that if I am going through this particular phase in my life that others are too.
I hope y’all enjoyed my first post and learned a little bit about me. All a can say is that I am excited about this journey and can’t wait to see where the Lord will take me. Peace out and I love you all!
